Virtual Reality Gaming

The best virtual reality games put you right into the action, whether that be bullets whizzing by your head, intense aerial battles or solving a murder.

VR gaming is what the average person is most hyped up for when it comes to VR. Forget surgeons being able to practice without endangering lives, forget kids being able to learn about foreign cultures through VR, forget how awesome VR will be for career counselling – lets immerse ourselves in some awesome VR games!

Alright, that was a bit flippant. The truth is that for most people, VR gaming will be the reason many people get into VR. VR games are the next generation of gaming. There’s nothing wrong with that. Computers are a great learning tool, but most of the time I end up using mine to watch Twitchtv and play games… no regrets!

Best VR games for experiences you could never otherwise get

That is what VR is all about, isn’t it? The best VR games let you transport yourself into worlds that boggle the imagination, putting you into nail biting, adrenaline pumping situations you could never normally experience.

Eve Valkyrie

I grew up watching Star Wars. The dog fights between tie fighters and x wings were the most intense scenes for me as I grew up, and I never thought I’d ever be able to experience something like this. Eve Valkyrie puts you into the drivers seat and instantly into the heat of battle where fast reaction times and proper positioning is essential if you don’t want to end up a pile of space dust.

This VR game uses Oculus Rift and a controller. It is not available for the HTC Vive.

Controls are intuitive, and anyone who has watched a scifi space battle will know exactly how to target their opponents and bring them down. This is Valkyrie’s great strength. You know how to play the game before you even play it. Move your head and your camera moves. Focus on an enemy ship while you hold down your controllers weapon system button and watch as your missiles lock on.

While you do level up and progress, the game thrives because of the focus on dogfighting and space battles. If that is not your cup of tea, then this game will simply not appeal to you. While there is a background and story, it is a combat driven game. It is a game based on aesthetics, thrills, and adrenaline.

Eve Valkyrie is a multiplayer vr game, with PVE single player as well

There are up to 8v8 dogfights as well as a single player mode where you can level up your ship.

This game is intense. Too intense for some. Some people will simply be unable to play Eve Valkyrie because of nausea. Others will be unable to play for over 30 minutes at a time.
